Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport (LJU), still widely called Brnik Airport, serves Slovenia's small, walkable capital from a spot about 26 kilometres north of Ljubljana city centre, near Kranj. It's one of the smaller EU capital airports, which makes it a calm place to land, with connections to hubs like London, Frankfurt, Vienna and Amsterdam. Slovenia has built a reputation for green travel, and Ljubljana regularly turns up on lists of Europe's most liveable cities. Hotels near Ljubljana Airport make sense if you've an early flight to catch.
GoOpti shuttles and regular buses link the airport with the centre and with Kranj. Reckon on about 45 minutes by bus into Ljubljana, 30 by car. Taxis wait at the terminal.
