Warsaw Chopin Airport (WAW) is Poland's biggest and busiest airport, about 10 kilometres south of the centre, and the home base for LOT Polish Airlines. It's a major connecting point for Central and Eastern Europe, handling around 18 million passengers a year. Warsaw itself draws business travellers and tourists in roughly equal measure, the latter coming for the rebuilt Old Town and the wartime memorials. If you're flying budget, note there's a second airport, Warsaw Modlin (WMI), 35 kilometres north, which handles some low-cost routes. Hotels near Warsaw Chopin Airport keep you close to the main terminal and the city alike.
The SKM suburban train links Chopin to Warszawa Centralna in about 20 minutes, which puts it among the better-connected airports in the region. Buses and trams tie the terminal into the rest of the public transport network.

The hotels around Chopin in the Okęcie district tend to be a draw for business and transit travellers, and rates often undercut what you'd pay in central Warsaw.
