Chișinău International Airport (KIV) is Moldova's only real commercial airport and the sole international gateway to the capital, about 13 kilometres southeast of Chișinău city centre. Air Moldova, Wizz Air and a few charter operators connect it to European hubs. Moldova is one of the least-visited countries in Europe and feels genuinely off the beaten track, known for its wine country, Orthodox monasteries and Soviet-era heritage. Most travellers booking hotels near Chișinău Airport actually stay in the centre.
Taxis and marshrutkas (minibuses) cover the run into town in about 20 to 30 minutes.

There's little right by the terminal, so most beds are in central Chișinău, an easy hop away. If you're heading for Moldova's wine country, including the vast Milestii Mici cellars among the largest anywhere, the airport is a handy first stop before you set off into the countryside.
