Common questions
Do I need to leave security for Airbräu?

Yes. Airbräu is landside in the Munich Airport Centre. You need to exit security, cross to MAC, then re-clear security on return. Allow enough time for this. The MAC is accessible from both T1 and T2 without leaving the terminal building complex.

Is Freising worth it for a layover?

Yes, for a 4 to 6 hour layover. The S-Bahn takes 20 minutes. Weihenstephan Brewery and Freising Cathedral are both within walking distance of the station. You get a genuine Bavarian town without the crowds of central Munich.

How long does it take to get to Munich city centre?

About 40 minutes by S-Bahn (S1 or S8) to Hauptbahnhof or Marienplatz. Trains run every 10 minutes during the day. Buy tickets at MVV machines in the MAC underground or use the MVV app. The Airport City Day Ticket covers all zones and is valid for the whole day.

What is the Visitors Park?

A free outdoor park on the north side of the airport campus. It has an elevated hill for watching aircraft land, an adventure playground, and historic aircraft on outdoor display. Open all year round, no entry fee. Around 10 minutes on foot from the Munich Airport Centre. Check the official airport website before visiting as some aircraft cabins may have restricted access during renovation.
