Lyon–Saint-Exupéry Airport (LYS) is the main airport for the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region and one of France’s busiest outside Paris, located around 25 km east of Lyon. It handles around 10 million passengers a year and is a key gateway to the French Alps.

The Rhônexpress tram-train runs from the airport to Lyon Part-Dieu station in around 30 minutes. The airport’s own TGV station also offers direct high-speed trains to Paris and the Alps. Taxis reach central Lyon in about 30 minutes.
