Dubrovnik Airport (DBV), officially Dubrovnik Čilipi Airport, is the way in to one of the Adriatic's headline destinations. It lies about 20 kilometres southeast of the famous walled Old Town. The airport is small, but it gets a heavy seasonal load, fed by the city's pull as a high-end break and its turn as a Game of Thrones location. The UNESCO-listed Old Town, with its medieval walls, limestone lanes, and sea views, is one of the most photographed centres in Europe. Hotels near Dubrovnik Airport offer a calmer alternative to staying inside those walls.
Airport buses run to the city's main bus terminus, a short walk from the Old Town, and taxis wait at the terminal.

The Čilipi and Cavtat areas tend to be quieter and cheaper than the crowded Old Town. Cavtat in particular is only minutes from the airport and has its own ferry across to Dubrovnik's Old Harbour, which makes it a lovely base.
