Minsk National Airport (MSQ) is Belarus's main gateway, and it sits a fair way out: 42 km east of the capital. Despite that distance, it links Minsk to European and international destinations through Belavia and other carriers. Minsk is Belarus's largest city and features sweeping Soviet-era architecture along its broad boulevards, well-preserved Stalinist streetscapes, and a growing arts and food scene that has attracted a younger generation of visitors.
The most convenient way to reach Minsk city centre from the airport is by the Minsk-Aeravakzal express train, which runs from the airport to the city's central bus terminal and connects to the metro network. Journey time is approximately 30 to 40 minutes by train. Taxis are also available, though the 42-kilometre distance makes them considerably more expensive.
